If you are in need of a highly effective interdental tool that can be used to clean in between your teeth, there are other options besides threaded dental floss. In many situations, interdental cleaning tools such as water flossers can prove to be highly effective as they can use beams of water to clean between teeth. Through the use of a water flosser, you can adequately keep debris and plaque buildup from occurring between teeth

In many situations when you have a treatment in place such as an orthodontic aligner, a dental bridge, dentures or dental crowns, water flossers can be beneficial. This is because, in many situations such as these, dental floss will not be able to clean between teeth effectively.

If you would prefer to forgo that use of threaded floss, beams of water provided by water flossers can be effective. However, it is important to make sure you’re using products that are safe and effective for use. Always look for the ADA Seal of Acceptance on product packaging or speak with your dentist about product recommendations or suggestions.

Are you in need of additional oral health care? If so, please call 770-921-9000 to schedule an appointment with Bella Dental at our office in Tucker, Georgia. Dr. Roderick S. Cooper and our expert team are here to ensure your smile can be enhanced to its maximum potential.

Several oral health risks are associated with missing teeth. Besides the obvious issue of causing a downturn in your smile and a sunken in facial structure, missing teeth can also make you look older. To help reverse this, any teeth that you do have that are missing will need to be replaced with a reliable tooth replacement. Highly effective options include dental bridges, dental implants, and dentures.

If you would like a permanent tooth replacement that is anchored onto nearby teeth, dental bridges are highly effective options. Not only do dental bridges fill in the gaps left behind, but they ensure that other nearby or neighboring teeth will no longer move or slide around. Because they’re permanent, no food restrictions will be needed as they will be held in place. Along the same vein, dental implants are permanent tooth prosthetics that can directly attach to your jawbone. Dental implants are highly desirable and can even last a lifetime of use. However, if you are looking for a temporary replacement that can easily be removed as needed, dentures can be used. Dentures can be crafted for as little as one tooth or can be designed for entire rows of teeth.

Now is the best time to visit the dentist office of Bella Dental for a prosthetic. Dr. Roderick S. Cooper and our team at our office in Tucker, Georgia, is here to ensure you receive the tooth restorations you need to keep your smile in peak condition. We can be reached by calling us at 770-921-9000.

Did you know the gum disease can occur in many stages throughout your lifetime? It is a common disease that is frequently found in many individuals with poor oral health. Typically, numerous symptoms are involved with gum disease. If you are suffering from gum tissue infection, always inspect your smile for common symptoms to determine if treatments from your dentist will be needed.

Never assume just because you’re cleaning your mouth correctly and implementing an effective diet that your teeth and gums are automatically safe. Dental damage can arise at any time and could be linked to an issue that you may not even be thinking about. In the case of gum tissue infection, it can progress over a period of many years, so it is important to spot it as soon as possible. Always be on the lookout for symptoms of gum disease. This can include uncharacteristic inflammation and swelling of your gums. Furthermore, if you frequently brush and floss and have blood visible as well as bleed during eating, it could be the sign of a gum tissue infection.

Common symptoms of gum disease include frequent bouts of halitosis and tooth recession. If it appears as if your gums are pulling back away from your teeth or bad breath continues to occur, it may be linked to an underlying condition such as gum disease. Also, be on the lookout for pus are sores between your teeth and gums, and any issues associated with pain while eating. Furthermore, if you have loose or separating teeth and what appears to be teeth that are extra movable, it could be the result of gum disease.

Is your smile in line for a makeover courtesy of gum disease treatments? Visit Bella Dental today for gum disease treatments to take your oral health to a new standard of greatness. We can be reached by scheduling an appointment with Dr. Roderick S. Cooper and our team at our dentist office in Tucker, Georgia by calling us at 770-921-9000.

Hi, Member of the Bella Dental Services Community,

Most people know that cavities are caused by poor oral hygiene and eating sugary foods. But those aren’t the only contributors.  Did you know about these other four causes of cavities?

1-Deep Tooth Crevices & Enamel Issues
Enamel issues and deep crevices create perfect breeding grounds for bacteria and plaque growth. They also can lead to tooth decay. If you have these problems, you’ll likely need dental sealants – an easy, quick and painless procedure – before your teeth become infected.

2-Dry Mouth Issues
Saliva helps protect your teeth from plaque. But if you have a dry mouth – a side effect from medications, a symptom of diabetes, or a genetic attribute – you’re more likely to suffer from tooth decay. If you have dry mouth, routine visits to the dentist are important for preventing cavities.

3-Tooth Grinding
Many of us grind our teeth without even realizing it. You might do it while you’re stressed or asleep, and many people aren’t even aware of how this can damage their teeth. Grinding your teeth wears down the outer layer of your enamel and leads to decay. However, you can save your teeth with a night guard and Bella Dental Services can help create a custom one for you.

4-Genetics
Many people suffer from tooth decay because of their genes. Not only do you inherit the color of your eyes and hair, but you may also inherit deep tooth crevices and enamel issues. So if you’re prone to cavities, it isn’t always because of something you did (or didn’t) do. Routine dental visits can help protect your teeth and maximize the health of your smile.

Talk to your dentist to make sure you’re protecting your teeth from these common, but lesser-known causes of cavities.

Have you ever wondered what the best techniques for preventing plaque and tartar buildup are? Surprisingly, it is exactly what you’ve always been told. Brushing twice daily, flossing once daily and make regular pit stops at your dentist are some the best ways to prevent the buildup of plaque and tartar.

Here are a few tips about plaque and tartar buildup:

– When treating plaque buildup, try to remember to keep your teeth clean by brushing twice daily and flossing once per day.
– Plaque buildup is a known trigger of gum disease.
– If left unchecked, plaque can eventually lead to tooth loss.
– Tartar buildup can greatly increase your likelihood of developing gingivitis, and sooner or later severe gum disease.
– Plaque is a sticky film that encases your teeth with a thin layer of debris and bacteria.
– If you do not wash away plaque soon enough, it will harden into tartar, which can only be safely eliminated by visiting your dentist.
– Plaque buildup is one of the leading sources of cavities, as bacteria in plaque can take sugars from foods and convert them into harmful acids that eat through tooth enamel.

If you are looking for plaque and tartar removal treatments in Tucker, Georgia, Bella Dental would love to help. For a more thorough examination to determine which treatment will work best for you, you can schedule an appointment with Dr. Roderick S. Cooper by calling our dentist office at 770-921-9000. Did you know that sugar-free gum can prevent cavities? According to numerous studies done on the subject, chewing sugarless gum after a meal for at least 20 minutes helps prevent cavities. But how? The truth is that the cavity-fighters that allow this to occur are not from the sugarless gum itself, but rather the process it creates inside your mouth.

By chewing sugarless gum, your mouth will be forced to create extra saliva. It is the saliva, not the gum, that actively fights cavities. It’s your mouth’s natural defence! For the same reason that dry mouth symptoms can damage your teeth, gum can help your teeth. Saliva not only washes away harmful bacteria that cause plaque, but it can even neutralize dangerous acids responsible for tooth decay. Chewing regular gum can also promote saliva, but the sugars in the gum feed the very bacteria the saliva is trying to wash away–negating the benefits of gum-chewing. Stick with sugar-free gum with the ADA Seal of Approval to make sure you are getting a product that does what it says it will do–help YOU fight cavities!

Chewing gum has even been shown to combat the effects of heartburn. An occurance not usually associated with oral health, heartburn is caused by acids from the stomach traveling up the esophagus and slowly wearing away these tissues. However if the acids reach your mouth, can also damage your teeth! Sugarless gum can help protect your teeth from the acids and sometimes even prevent heartburn from occurring.

Are you ready to enter the summer season but still want to upgrade or enhance the look of your teeth, but the fear of going to the dentist is holding you back? Not to worry though, as sedation dentistry can be used to give you mild sedatives to help you relax and overcome all levels of dental anxiety and stress you may have.

Prepare your summer smile with these important sedation dentistry tips.

– A fast-acting and adjustable method of sedation called IV moderate sedation directly injects sedatives into your bloodstream.
– One common type of sedation is gas sedation, also called inhaled minimal sedation, which uses a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide to form laughing gas, which is excellent for helping patients relax.
– Sedation via pills that are ingested orally is called oral sedation, whereby pills can take up to an hour to work, but depending on the dosage, they are capable of producing a mild relaxation to a total sleep-state.
– The most well-known and common type of sedation is deep sedation, also referred to as general anesthesia, which can cause patients to be put to sleep and remain asleep until the effects entirely wear off.

If you would like to book an oral exam with Dr. Roderick S. Cooper at our dentist office in Tucker, Georgia, call us at 770-921-9000. Our team at Bella Dental looks forward to bringing your smile to its fullest with the help of a sedation dentistry treatment.

Are your teeth damaged and in need of a dental bonding treatment? Dental bonding refers to cosmetic alterations to your teeth designed to change its color and shape. Although dental bonding is typically used for a variety of oral needs, it is most commonly used for dental chipping.

Dental bonding is a cosmetic tooth restoration treatment designed to improve your oral health care by repairing damage to your teeth which can be produced by a wide variety of sources. Your teeth can be damaged by oral accidents or injuries, plaque buildup, poor oral hygiene, tooth enamel loss, and various other dental disasters.

Dental bonding is not only used in restoring the functionality of a tooth, but it can also improve a tooth’s appearance. If a tooth is visually damaged as the result of stains, discolorations, or feature other visual flaws, it may be possible to correct them with the use of dental bonding. Dental bonding can also be used to help with spacing issues, minor malocclusions, and even dental filling repair for cavities.

Bella Dental is here to help you with all your dental bonding needs. For a complete diagnosis from Dr. Roderick S. Cooper and our team at our dentist office in Tucker, Georgia, you can schedule an appointment by calling us at 770-921-9000. We look forward to helping you smile.

Some teeth cannot be saved, but implants can be used in their place. With dental implants, you can have natural-looking implants attached directly to your jawbone for a sturdy hold. A complete smile awaits with dental implants and their many astonishing benefits:

– Dental implants are superbly durable and can potentially last for the rest of your life.

– Dental implants can rebuild a facial structure that has been damaged due to lost or missing teeth, which often results in your face appearing much more sunken in, weaker, and older looking.

– Dental implants can be crafted and altered to fit comfortably in the spaces left behind by missing teeth.

– When your implants are attached to your jawbone, a process called Osseointegration takes place in which the bone will grow stronger and healthier and will come to support the implant better.

– Dentures can shift around inside your mouth, and can often come loose when tough or chewy food such a steak is consumed. However, dental implants will stay securely in place in nearly any circumstance, allowing you to eat any foods you desire.

If you would like to set up an appointment to discuss your possible implant treatment with Dr. Roderick S. Cooper and our team at Bella Dental, please call 770-921-9000 to set up a visit to our dentist office in Tucker, Georgia. Get the smile you’ve always dreamed of with dental implants.
